Andy Bass, PhD
Andy has worked with James Wilk and the Interchange team for over a decade, designing minimalist interventions for clients in both the US and Europe.
Independently he is a consultant, author and speaker focused on improved collaboration between commercial and technical teams (“Suits & Geeks”), and has worked with businesses including Collins Aerospace, Aon, Deutsche Bank, DLA Piper, Rolls Royce, L’Oreal, and The Advanced Propulsion Centre. He is also an experienced executive educator and has taught at Oxford Saïd, Warwick, Aston and Strathclyde Business Schools.
Andy is author of four books, including Start With What Works (about leveraging hidden assets) and Committed Action (about leading without creating resistance).
Prior to his consulting career, Andy was a lecturer at Aston Business School where his research focused on the intersection of systems thinking, organizational change and safety culture.
Andy has as PhD in Computer Science from Aston University and is Visiting Professor in Managerial Cybernetics and Consulting Practice in the faculty of Computing, Engineering and Built Environment at Birmingham City University (UK). Andy lives in The Royal Town of Sutton Coldfield, near Birmingham. Locally, he is a director of Upcycle, a charity that reconditions furniture and prevents it ending up in landfill. Outside his work, Andy is a keen gigging guitarist, and self-described ‘failed stand-up comedian.’
